It’s strange that many users dislike autoplay feature on linkedin. Its because that the platform is mainly used for professional purpose rather than entertainment purpose.
Anyhow, apparently there seems many reasons of disliking the autoplay feature and some of them are given below.
· Can slow down performance
Multiple autoplay videos in the feed may affect app responsiveness, especially on older devices or weaker internet connections.
· Attention fatigue
Constant motion in feeds increases cognitive load. Professionals often want a calmer browsing experience compared to platforms built for high stimulation.
· Consumes mobile data and battery
Videos loading automatically can use significant bandwidth and battery life, especially for users on mobile networks or slower connections.
· Reduces user control
People generally prefer choosing what to watch. Autoplay removes that decision and can create a feeling that content is being pushed onto them.
Anyhow, linkedin also gives the option to its user to disable it if they want. So, to disable it,
· Sign in to your linkedin account
· Click on your profile menu
· Go to settings
· Click on Autoplay videos
· Select the first option which is “Never Autoplay videos”.
· Check the tutorial below for full instructions
Anyhow, people who use linkedin for solely professional purpose, prefer to disable it to stay away from distractions.
